‘Daily Thoughts’ is in pause mode for a few days. You may have missed some of these. Here is a quick way to continue some thinking during the pause.
Strategy is always the big brother, then big theme, the solemn S that we out in front of everything.
If you want to go deep into strategy, my recommendation is to read non-business books.
There are two Daily Thoughts that point to some ‘different’ directions. I suggest:
‘The incumbent always loses first; that may be a winning strategy’ from political campaigning and marketing. Tremendous lessons for managmet in organizations if you have the appetite to read various accounts of the 2008 and 2012 Obama presidential campaigns.
Also ‘Management is political campaigning inside; leadership is winning campaigns’ from the same origins. Here in this Daily Thought I offer 10 comparisons between ‘business (organizational) management’ and Political Campaigning. It goes well beyond ‘language’. For example (number 7) ‘Business management emphasises ‘people engagement’. Political campaigning emphasises ‘people mobilization’
The best way compile your own ideas for your team is to search within the search box or via the ‘Other articles by categories’ in the site.
These Thoughts are written for that purpose, not to ‘agree/disagree, but stimulate fresh thinking coming from…you.
Experiment with this, create your own collection. Pass it on.
