There are 245 ‘Daily Thoughts’ in the collection. In my new book HOWEVER, which I will be pre-launching soon, they are grouped into some categories. One that has attracted lots of attention and discussion is “structure’. As an organization architect, I am delighted.
I recommend two Daily Thoughts that deal with two important ‘structural’ issues:
The Lego and the Jigsaw: tow ways to build an organization
When designing, or re-thinking the organization, perhaps new structures, new areas of grow, or expansion, or an opportunity to re-create collaborative ways, the question of whether you’ll do so in Lego mode or Jigsaw mode, may be crucial of the futureEvery successful company’s growth contains seeds of failure. At some point, organizational complexity could outweigh the business benefits. This Daily Thought deals with something vital: the issue of complexity ( again, via grow or restructuring, for example) and how there is a fine line between enjoying the complexity and being penalized by it.
These two Daily Thoughts are two of many dealing with ‘the structure of the way we do things’. Organizing ourselves and others is not a small leader’s issue.
Happy Christmas again.
